waldenbooks ain't so bad. it's choke times better than times ever was. in fact, today was my third day, and i haven't even quit! whoo!

anyway, my first day there, i saw choke people, including mr. tonouchi who bought car magazines. yeah, i thoguht so too, but he didn't leave the store with his own book.

yeah, i didn't know how many of my friends were literate.

what else? oh yeah, i wasn't the only new hire, so i got to be lost with another girl from KCC. but, as far as i know, we're the only ones at KCC. then again, i haven't talked to a lot of people.

hmm... what else is there? i got to work cashier today, i even made two Preferred Reader sales, but the only problem is i messed up that sale and so i had to Void the whole thing. i ended up with five post voids after working four hours on the cashier. meh... the older people say that 10 is the most that they've seen on a regular day, but 12-15 during christmas.

man, my knees get really sore working though. i know i shouldn't complain because there's plenty other people who read this who work(ed) 8 hour days too, but whatever.

you know what else is cool about working at waldenbooks? i'm making more money per hour than i was at times with better work conditions.

oh, funny story time. today, i was walking the floor checking if people needed help and so i come across this girl who looks kinda lost. so i ask her "can i help you find anything?"

she looks at me "huh? what? oh! do you work here?" i guess she didn't notice my name tag at first.

"uh, yeah."

"oh, do you know if they're still taking applications?" she asks.

"i don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to try, y'know?"

"yeah, i guess so. how old are you?" she asked in a "by the way" manner.

"um, 18."

"oh..."

"why? do i look that young?" i asked really confused and kinda weirded out by that question.

"well, yeah. i just wasn't sure because everyone here is kinda old."

"oh, yeah. i'm the baby of the story," and then we both laughed as her friend brought the applications. so i wished her goodluck on getting the job and went off to help more people.

so yeah, the other new hire had told me that everyone was trying to figure out if i'm the youngest person at the store. plus, they all seem kinda amazed that i haven't had another job either. how was i to know i'm so many of the store employees oddities?

maybe latter i'll post stuff about my co-workers... or maybe not. we'll see...
