so yup. i've been hard at work. i got my first paycheck for 17 hours which came out to $119 or so, but after taxes, it was only $98.41. so sad... and then, that very day, i took out $60 in the morning to pay for dinner that night, but i ended up using it to pay for Ka Wan's present, Frances' present, and Ivy's present. yeah, randi didn't have money the whole day so i paid for most of it. oh, plus i got myself two more shirts for work from old navy (because they're stuff is cheap and okay looking). but then, when we went to dinner, frickin' randi's ATM card didn't work. so i had to take out another $60. so yup, i ended up taking out more than i put in. oh well. it's okay i guess... i got most of it back in repayment from randi and her parents.

but yeah... working isn't so bad. i still need to learn how to do things, but meh...

oh, i worked today and i got the new guy hazing thing going on. today i scrubbed floors with simple green and paper towels, and then, just as i was finishing up the whole hard floor, judah, one of my bosses made me clean the ceiling with a ladder and a duster. yeah... while i was up there, i swear to god a bug somehow got into my hair. so when i came down to the floor to inspect my work, i brushed my hair 'cause i felt something in it. next thing i know there's a buzzing by my ear and i start freaking out. yeah... i felt pretty weird because there was a girl standing there looking at me like i was retarded. but whatever. i also met mrs. teruya's replacement today. but frick... our store was like one of two stores on the island that was open, and one of five in the whole nation. yeah... even the mall was actually closed today. so there was us, foodland, and the restaurants open. fuckers. and we didn't even get time and a half. at least i didn't have to open or close. but i do close twice next week. meh...

i'm still glad i'm not in the national guard i guess.

oh yeah. and today, as the day dragged on, the store got to a point where there wasn't a single customer in there. it was like this for about an hour before i left. and just as 6:30 was rolling around, a girl came in looking for a book. the computer said we had it, but i couldn't find it. so she ended up buying an $11 journal. but Judah put it best: "not one customer for a whole hour, and just as you're about to leave one shows up and starts bothering you." man... truer words have never been spoken. frickin customers... go home! it's easter!
