as baddly as i want a gf at times, i think right now it's better that i'm single.
well, it's not that i want a gf all that baddly. i wouldn't be opposed to meeting a nice girl and all... 'cause i'm not gay... just felt like i should mention that because there's a lot of gay guys who like me... more on that in a few paragraphs... i promise. anyways, i digress...
i know that this would be a really shitty time for me to try dating. gamestop does more than half its yearly business in the 4th quarter. i just spent 6 hours on my day off in the store. last week i worked a combined 55ish hours. after this week, all the store managers will be working 6 day work weeks. i'm sure some of us will be working all seven days... possibly me included.
so the gay guys liking me...
there's the guy jeff from ala moana... he's friends with devin's, one of my employees, friends. so one day, they were all hanging out and the subject of me and my dissapearing hair came up. devin said that i'd cut my hair about a month ago, to which jeff corrected him promptly, that it was three weeks prior.
and then there's howie... one morning, donna and i were having coffee and howard was leaving work so he came to talk to us for a few minutes. while he was sitting there, i asked him if he shaves because i noticed some long ass peach fuzz on his face. he told me that he only shaves around his mouth to which i began to make fun of him for that. anyway, a week-ish later, he came to sit down with me and donna again. after he left, donna turned to me and asked if i'd noticed. "huh? noticed what?" apparently howard had shaved his face all over and had broken out because of it. donna believes that howard did it because i made fun of him and that he was trying to see if i'd noticed. i sorta did, but not really.
meh... whatever... i like candace anyway... in a i "think you might be fun to hang out with but i could never stand dating you" way...
i went drinking with carlie last monday, and the bar tender was fuckin' awesome. he gave carlie her two or three drinks for free and hooked me up with a free beer too. i think he was trying to mack on carlie, but i didn't give a shit because i got free beer.
i'm such a lush...
i wonder if that's a term only used on women? either way... i honestly do show alcoholic tendencies. but i feel that i have it under control because i feel like i do not have an addictive personality. i've quit smoking multiple times with no adverse effects. i think if i wanted to i could never touch a drink again... only thing is, i don't want to not drink. drinking makes me happy... well, drinking in moderation anyway.
i didn't get to talk to the oregon girl at the last football game despite my awesome plan. some fucking guy she's known for what seems like all her life wouldn't shut up the whole damn game. i seriously couldn't get a word in edgewise. that's okay though because there was a good ass football game on anyway... until colt brennan got the shit smacked out of his head. that was sad... it made me so sad...
speaking of colt brennan...
i've made this prediction a long ass time ago, but i want to put it here for posterities sake: i think colt brennan will go to tampa bay in the 2nd round of the 2008 nfl draft. i think the qb he most resembels is rich gannon. an athletic undersized (bulk wise), side arm passer who is ultra athletic and can be supremely successful in the right system, but not as succesfull in another. somewhat like jeff garcia but different... not quite so frantic. but then again, garcia has a lot of similiarities to gannon as well, which is why they've both succeeded in gruden's system. hell, gannon won the MVP and went to the super bowl (and almost one other except for the tuck rule game) using gruden's system (albeit after gruden left), and garcia is experiencing something similiar to a come-back year despite the fact that he had that come-back half-year last year.
i seriously think that though. i think there're enough question marks on brennan to make him a 2nd rounder and not a first. only thing is, i don't know if he'll fall far enough to reach tampa in the 2nd round. but let's name the teams that might even consider spending an early pick on a qb: chargers and ravens are longshots; 49ers, bears, bucs, falcons, panthers, vikings, and jaguars are also distinct possibilities.
i think we can rule out the jaguars even though it seems like every draft site thinks they'll grab a QB. if they do, i don't think it'll be early... or even day one because Garrard is a good qb in my mind. the chargers might be getting sick of phillip rivers' regression, but AJ Smith seems like the kinda guy who believes in the guy he drafts more than anyone else (which would explain why he fired marty schottenhiemer--which i felt was a good move, but hiring norv turner hasn't quite panned out). the ravens maybe, but they just drafted troy smith in the 5th round or something last year and he hasn't even had much of a shot to show if he can run the show yet. the falcons would probably grab a QB early in the first round, well before brennan would be considered to be drafted, plus brian brohm would still presumably be on the board for his old coach bobby petrino to take him. the panthers maybe... because david carr sucks and jake delhomme is old, but i don't think they're going to prioritize QB early enough either. the vikings possibly too... very possibly... but they might not want to draft him either because of value at the spot they're in. the 49ers? maybe they'll grab brennan early since it seems like they're souring on alex smith. they might grab him earlier than tampa in the 2nd round... the bears? well, i think they ought to draft another qb too. mid to late 1st round a possibility, but i think the system and everything would make so much more sense for only a team like tampa to grab colt.
