todays scavenger hunt was okay. props to kim's sister and jenna for setting the whole thing up.
i woke around 745 to clean my room cause my grandma was gonna sleep at our house and my bed was voluntered as hers, so hence so was my room. so i cleaned it, and then my parents left for the airport to go get them.
850: i left for roosevelt to meet up w/ the rest of the people for the scavenger hunt.
when i got there at 900 just as i was across the street, kerin, brandon, and jenna hit the parking lot too. and leila's mom was there waiting too. so, i took a seat all alone cause thats how i prefer to be sometimes, and waited for the rest of the people involved to come (the rest of the drivers). so, when all the drivers got there, kim's sister gave the briefing and then jenna said, everyone with their whole group here can go get started. so all the groups except for aarin and trevor who needed blair and brandon, kerin, coryn, and jenna, who needed kelsey left for their first clue. well, actually aarin and trevor left w/o blair.
our group, which consisted of kim, the driver; emily, the navigator; gen, the back seater; and myself, the extra; left for pearl ridge after dropping off kim's sister at home. we hit pearl ridge and went looking all over the specified area for our clue. but we could not find it and had to call up kim's sister, who hid the clue to find out where to look. we found it and we were on our way to "a place where magicians might want to go for a picnic and a swim. sub clue: lights" magic island.
well, we went there and split up into one person groups to find the clue, we eventually found it w/o assistance. after we found it, we had to go to "two places, open 24 hours that are next to eachother. on a machine that makes money sub clue: dance" and off we were to Hawaiian Brian's Dance revolution machine.
Gen found the clue and as we were leaving, we saw Jenna's group rushing in to look for their clue. man, i thought we were going balls to the walls. these guys had brandon in the car waiting, they were running for high hell too. un-real.
after that, we were sent on our way to home depot.
once we reached home depot, we went to the drill bits section where our sub clue had stated to go. we must've been looking for 30-45 minutes when we couldn't figure out where it was. during this time, erin called me up and told us that her group, ross (driver), erin, dane, and leila gave up in mililani. we decided to send half the team to go ask kim's sister whom no one could get in-touch with. so kim and gen took the car to kim's sisters dentist appointment to find out why she couldnt get in touch and get the next clue while myself and emily miyazawa stayed back and looked for the clue. for the time that we were there, we searched the drill bits section inch by inch and couldnt find it so we went walking around the store. we spent quite a while in the kitchen area where i scored free dishwasher soap even when i dont have a dishwashwer. (if anyone has one, tell me and you get free soap).
well, we did get our next clue, which lead us to ala moana bubba gump shrimp. when we got there, we decided to try something new. we had kim wait in the car while gen, emily, and I jumped out and went looking for the clue. when we got to the area prescribed, gen saw kelsey's mom and cousin. so she was talking to them while me and emily went looking for the clue. we found it and started to make our way back to the car. this clue was somethign along the lines of "im having a party in kailua and i've run out of food and its 3 a.m. go to the nearest market and take the safe way. sub clue: sunchips" so off we were to kailua. too bad none of us knew our way around kailua.
we hit kailua and went driving around looking for it. we had to stop and ask for directions. it just so happened we stopped a marine on his bicycle. i didnt get a chance to yell "Semper Fi" at him, but oh well. he directed us to the genereal viciinty of where we needed to be, so we got out and looked around the times parking lot and decided to ask a group of fire fighters where to go. they told us and off we went for safeway. when we got there we ran for high hell for the sunchips. we found it and got back in the car for mililani wal-mart.
man, this one was a doozie. we didnt know how to get to mililani for shit. but we figured it out during our long drive in the general direction. once we got there we were looking and looking and looking in the "belts" section. boy, we looked and looked and looked. then we got a phone call on gen's cell that jenna's team had won. we had to decided what to do. so we called kim's sister and asked where it would be, and then we looked again. but, i guess it was the same as home depot. it was gone. so we thought about going to the next clue, but on the way, we were told that we could just go home already. it wasnt worth it so we went to drop off emily at home.
just as we were about there, i asked if she had video games. lo and behold she did. maybe today wasnt going to be such a loser day after all.
when we got there, she told us that we could go and play video games. and whaddya know? she had time crisis. i like that game. so i played that and then emily played it, then gen gave it a go. that was funny. she couldnt play that game if her life depended on it. and then, emily and kim played point blank. emily kicked ass at that game. then i played her. i got whooped too. then me and kim played. i got whooped again because i wasn't using the gun. im more used to using a gun with shooting games. and then we watched tv for an hour or so. during that time i found out that i probably am a size 3 waist. so ha! told you so melissa! you are skinnier than me! then kim and gen had to leave so kim took me home and that was my day.
when i got home, i found out that my grandma is going to be staying with her sister and i dont need to turn my room over. i also cleaned it for nothing. damn.
i also found out that i dont have just a raw throat, but also a cold. that really pisses me off. if erin finds out. i cant tell her im invincible anymore. which i still think i am cause im a teenager and i think i rule the world and everything about it. stupid germs and viruses. when the hell is the fever going to come to kill the cold? hurry up before school starts dammit!
this bites. im sick on my one free week of summer. i havent had any bit of a summer except for one day! i swear to fucking hell i havent. i'll explain:
first two weeks of summer: from the day right after school ended, i went to seattle and canada with my family. no vacation time there.
the next so many weeks (5 or 6 i dont remember): summer school
the sunday following summer school: marine corps leadership camp. one week.
the one monday following that week: my one day off.
august 1st till yesterday: BLC (battalion leadership course). waste of time except for the part where i diagnosed myself an introvert which was a look at my personality. i agree with it now that i've taken a closer look at myself. i am an introvert.
and that was all of summer. one fucking day off. and now, when i have half a week left before i have to do some hard core work, what happens? i get sick. i tell you, i just cant win. nothing works in my favor. nothing. i am pissed off at the world right now for not appealing to my taste and pleasures. i wish i were dead.
