guess what i got to do today.
i played with snow. up, i got to have a snowball fight today. this japanese high school brought with them all these coolers full of fresh powdery snow. and well, they gave one to the rotc guys who performed for them. and i was one of them. so he came down to take a picture of us opening it, and then it kinda transformed into a snowball fight. he must've gotten some good shots man. it was great.
oh... but the performance wasnt that great. i mean, we did everything right, even better than what we did in practice. but its just that we had to follow micha nauro's fire knife routine. so... yeah, we were pretty much outclassed. uck. that sucked. it really sucks going after someone whos good at that shit. y'know? especially because he did his routine with fire, not the stupid glowsticks. so... it looked really cool. and then we went up there with rifles that look lighter than they are. so, yeah...
thats pretty much all there is to it. today was boring.
oh no... on saturday i have to wake up at 5:30 because i need to be kalaheo HS no later than 6:45. we have the kalaheo basketball tournement on saturday morning. and the problem is that i play second string, but the other guys on second string dont know how to play defense. or offense for that matter. cause on defense, reece moves around too much, he doesnt play his area in zone, and we cant go to man-to-man cause we're not good enough for that yet. and ikaika, he doesnt play d or offense good either. on defense, he just stand there, he doesnt get in their face. and on offense, he doesnt know how to handle the ball. he stops the dribble, but he hangs on to the ball when he stops. usually when you stop the dribble you pass it off right there, but he stops and then looks for the outlet. and he tries to hot dog it a lot too, so he gets himself into stupid positions. and i think neither reece nor ikaika are really taking this seriously. daryl and dae won are really good, and leo's height just works for us. but... y'know... it doesnt make up for sloppy playing. oh, and phuc, he's first string, but he shouldnt be. i mean, he's good and everything, but his morale is low. if something doesnt go his way, he gets all pissy and looses his edge. i think his edge is his confidence, but when things dont work for him, he loses it and then he just sucks cause he doesnt have his drive and therefore doesnt drive or move well. he gets all slugish. i dont know. it all kinda makes me angry because i'm out there busting my butt trying to learn everything cause i really want to do decently. but... i mean, with guys like them, it makes it really hard.
